Zinc gluconate

Zinc gluconate is the zinc salt of gluconic acid. In its pure form, it is a white to off-white powder. Zinc acts as an antioxidant and strengthens the immune system.

Zinc gluconate is the zinc salt of gluconic acid. It is an ionic compound consisting of two anions of gluconate for each zinc(II) cation. Gluconic acid is found naturally.It is also industrially made by the fermentation of glucose from fungi or by bacteria, e.g. Aspergillus niger. In its pure form, it is a white to off-white powder. A zinc gluconate-based product, also containing arginine, is used as a veterinary chemical castration drug. Zinc acts as an antioxidant and strengthens the immune system. zinc Supplementation may be used to increase immunity against viruses or may interfere with the replication of certain viruses.
