Obtained by the action of MgSO3 on NA2CO3. Magnesium carbonate is an inorganic chemical compound. It is a magnesium salt of carbonic acid.
Formula for magnesium carbonate is MgCO3. Under room conditions, magnesium carbonate has a form of a white or transparent crystalline substance.
Magnesium carbonate does not dissolve in water. It is decomposed into magnesium oxide and carbon dioxide at 350 degrees Celsius.
In the natural environment it is most often found in the form of a mineral – magnesite.
Performs technological functions such as acidity regulator, raising agent, anti-caking agent, carrier.
