Kwas cytrynowy to organiczny związek chemiczny pochodzący z grupy hydroksykwasów karboksylowych. Spełnia on ważną rolę w metabolizmie węglowodanów. Znajduje zastosowanie w produktach spożywczych jako regulator kwasowości i przeciwutleniacz (E330).

Citric acid is an organic chemical compound derived from the group of hydroxy carboxylic acids. It occurs in a crystalline form in anhydrous form or as a monohydrate. It plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates. It occurs naturally in some fruits, such as lemons. In industry, citric acid is obtained from the lemon fermentation process. It is used in food products as an acidity regulator and antioxidant (E330). It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry and household. Can be used as a cleaning agent.
