Sebacic acid

It is used as a by-product for flavours, germicides and painting materials, and for the production of radiator fluids .
In its pure state it occurs in the form of a white flake or powder; it melts at 131-134.5 °C and boils at 294.4 °C (at 100 mmHg). Density 1.209 g/cm3 (at 25 °C).
Application: among others as a stabilizer for plastics (alkyd resins, maleic polyesters and others, polyurethanes); in the production of plastics. Acid and its derivatives are used in plasticizers, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, cosmetics, candles, etc. In the synthesis of polyamide and alkyd resins. Also used as a by-product for flavours, germicides and painting materials, and for the production of radiator fluids .
