Organic chemical compound from the phenol group, a hydroxyl derivative of toluene or a methyl derivative of phenol.
It is obtained by distillation of gas tar or crude oil. Name “cresol” comes from its traditional source – creosote.
Used mainly in the production of resins, plasticizers, pure meta and para cresol.
