Application: concrete, cement mortars, tile adhesives, adhesives and sealants, colors, pigments and optical brighteners, feed additives, fertilizer additives, tanning.

Calcium formate comes in two grades: feed and technical. In the construction industry, calcium formate is used as an additive for concrete. It shortens the binding time and increases the rate at which the early strength of concrete builds up. It is also used in anti-freeze admixtures. It prevents the growth of bacteria and microorganisms, so it is used as an animal feed preservative, extending the shelf life of the product. In addition, it is used in the formulation of plant protection products. Other fields in which it has found use include the leather and textile (leather tanning), textile and energy industries.
