Application: commonly used as a food preservative, a preservative in the manufacture of paints, raw material for the production of pesticides, dyes, medicines, perfumes, mordants and plasticizers, modifying agent for polyamide and alkyd resins, rust inhibitor for steel products.

Benzoic acid comes in the form of white flakes or a fine crystalline powder.
It has many applications in the feed, food and pharmaceutical industries.
It is commonly used in food preservation, dyes, paints, plasticizers and pesticides.
It is used as a polymerization aid, a polymer chain terminator for alkyd resins (improvement of gloss, hardness and chemical resistance), rubbers and polymers, and as an auxiliary in the recovery of petroleum oils, also a component of antifreezes.
