Vitamin K2 is a compound synthesized by intestinal flora bacteria. It is therefore supplied with products of animal origin as well as in fermented soybeans. Vitamin K2 is in fact a whole group of compounds collectively named as “menaquinones” or the abbreviation “MK-n”, where n indicates the number of unsaturated isoprenoid residues at C3 carbon (from 1 to 13). Noteworthy in particular is vitamin K2 in the form of MK-7 (menaquinone-7). Appearance: light yellow powder.
