Organic compound, exogenous amino acid, coded by codons GUU, GUC, GUA and GUG. It is a non-polar amino acid with an aliphatic, branched side chain -CH-(CH3)2. Effect and application: stimulates the development of muscle tissue, affects the regeneration of the body, is essential in the synthesis of vitamin B5, regulates metabolism, especially carbohydrate biosynthesis.
